About the Position

In the role of Case Manager 'Intensive Youth Support Service', you will provide trauma informed intensive case management and practical support to highly vulnerable older children / young people (10 – 17 years) referred by Territory Families who engage in behaviours that place them at significant risk of further harm and of entering the Child Protection and / or Juvenile Justice systems. Working with the young person, their family, the Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF) Therapist, Territory Families and other services, you will develop and implement Individual Support Plans focused on goals, aspirations and outcomes. You will work in culturally respectful ways to build support networks, strengthen connections to family and community while encouraging positive decision making, self-regulation and promoting safety and wellbeing,

To be successful, you will possess higher education qualifications in Human Services / Social Science combined with eligibility for membership with a professional association; experience (3 years) in complex case management / assertive outreach with working with risk / vulnerable young people and families in a community-based environment; and advanced youth engagement skills and understanding of how to use trauma informed, culturally appropriate and strengths-based approaches with trauma related behaviours associated with child abuse, neglect, domestic / family violence and / or family breakdown.

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must possess an Ochre Card (Working with Children Clearance), a National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a current Northern Territory manual driver’s licence.
