About the Position
Anglicare NT in Nhulunbuy is currently seeking a Family Support Worker to provide support to families in our Intensive Family Preservation Service. This voluntary service provides purposeful, planned and time limited support to families to meet child protection safety goals for their children. The Intensive Family Preservation Service (IFPS) is focused on working with key adults, extended family members and services to address areas of concern and keep families together, making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families living in Nhulunbuy Township and remote communities on the Gove Peninsula.
To be successful you will have:
▪ The ability to work cross culturally in a sensitive manner to provide practical assistance to develop tenancy and household management skills
▪ An ability to work in a cross cultural environment
▪ An understanding of the complex issues families face, particularly living in a remote location
▪ Ability to provide practical support to families from a strengths based approach
Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must possess an Northern Territory Ochre Card (Working with Children Clearance), a National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a current Northern Territory manual driver’s licence.
